Meet the Band

The Befuddlers is an acoustic roots music trio from Annapolis, MD. Their roots stretch from Brazil to Ireland and beyond, incorporating the music of many different folk cultures, with some unusual twists.

They have performed a monthly residence at the 49 West Coffeehouse, Winebar, and Gallery in downtown Annapolis since 2010, and can also be seen at other events around the region.

A typical set may include:

Original Songs and Instrumentals, Bluegrass Songs, American and Celtic Fiddle Tunes, Bossa Nova, American Folk Music, Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Classic Rock, Blues, Western Swing, and more...

Jenn Byrne

Bass, Vocals

Jenn Byrne is the foundation of the group, playing the upright bass, and doing the Lion's share of the singing. Jenn has an enigmatic and versitile voice, which is capable of a wide variety of styles. In addition to The Befuddlers Jenn can be seen around town with her other group, the Hypnotic Panties. She also has a band with her brother Jeremy, and father Pete which is called Crosstown.

Larry Byrne

Guitar, Vocals

Larry Byrne is a multi-instumentalist and singer, and lays down the rhythm on acoustic guitar with The Befuddlers. Larry sits on the board of AMFM, a charity organization for musicians based in Annapolis. He can be seen playing with many local groups at AMFM fundraisers. Larry also plays with the local funk group, Higher Hands, playing the keyboards and supplying left hand bass. He also loves to join the Hypnotic Panties whenever possible!

Pete Reichwein

Dobro, Vocals

Pete Reichwein is the father of Jenn, and the Dobro player in the group. Pete has been a fixture in the Bluegrass community for decades, but is also an extremely diverse musician with a good knowledge of many different styles of music.
